Diamond oilstone
Diamond Oilstone
Diamond oilstone has excellent elasticity, cutting force, and wear resistance. It is the most ideal abrasive tool among all oilstones. It can be used in mold manufacturing, tool repair, and for grinding curved surfaces, hole inner walls, and other surfaces of various workpieces that are difficult to reach with ordinary abrasive tools. Its specifications are: 100×2-10×0.5-1.2 (mm, default unit for industrial dimensions), and its grit sizes range from 320# to 1200#.
It is suitable for ultra-precision machining of precision-grade bearings and other components. It has strong grinding capacity and a long service life, and the surface roughness of the machined workpiece can reach Ra 0.015μm.
Grinding Method for Diamond Oilstone
Diamond grinding paste is used, with grit sizes ranging from W40 to W0.5. W40 is the coarsest, providing a large grinding volume; W0.5 is the finest, used for polishing. It does not cause workpiece annealing, and can even grind extremely hard cutters.
Usage Instructions
Apply the coarse W40 grinding paste to a boron carbide oilstone—this can accelerate and increase the grinding volume without causing annealing.
After that, thoroughly clean the coarse grinding paste off the cutter.
Then, apply the W0.5 grinding paste to a ruby or natural jade base, and use it for polishing. The resulting finish will be a mirror-like surface.
